Are you licensed and insured?

Yes we are. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) requires all wildlife removal specialists to be appropriately licensed to perform any trapping activities. Besides Maryland, we are also licensed in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Delaware.

Which areas do you service?

The majority of our wildlife removal services are concentrated in Maryland, and we have several local offices in Glen Burnie, Edgeweood, Bethesda and Baltimore. But we also respond to calls from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington, DC. Our specialists stationed in Fairfax, VA and Gettysburg, PA, are ready to be dispatched and help you get rid of your nuisance wildlife!

Do you offer emergency service?

We certainly do! You can call us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on holidays. We realize that some wildlife problems, such as an animal inside your living quarters, need to be addressed immediately.

What happens to the animals you trap?

With every animal we trap alive, we strive for the most humane outcome, which typically involves releasing it back into the wild. We will do this far away from your home to ensure the animal doesn’t return. In some cases, however, there could be other local laws we have to follow, especially when it comes to injured, sick, endangered or protected animals.

Why can’t I call the local government about my wildlife problem?

The city and county animal services don’t deal with wildlife—they only respond to calls about stray domestic animals. If you call about wildlife, they will direct you to DNR, and the best DNR can do is recommend you how to keep wildlife intruders away. You need a professional Maryland wildlife removal company licensed by DNR to actually solve your nuisance wildlife problem.

Can I trap the animal myself?

According to the DNR’s Code, it is illegal for the property owner to trap without a valid permit for such animals as foxes, raccoons, opossums, snakes and some other birds and animals. There are some exceptions, of course, and you don’t need a permit to deal with rats, feral pigeons, nutria and several other species. However, we till recommend to leave wild animal removal to a professional to ensure it’s done right the first time.

Do I need a specialist to remove a dead animal?

If it’s dead wildlife inside your home or on your property, we encourage you to contact a specialist because there could be other animals living nearby. Please note that we don’t offer dead animal pickup from public roads—that’s what the county does. If it’s a dead pet, you can usually call your county’s dead animal pickup. Small animals such as dead mice and rats can be double-bagged and disposed of in the trash. Be sure to wear gloves!

Do you offer insect control services?

No, we specialize in wildlife removal and live-trapping of animals.

Should I worry about rabies?

Not all animals carry rabies, and of those that do not all are known to transmit it to humans. You should worry about rabies if you have bats in your attic, because that’s where the majority of cases of rabies in humans originate from. Bats can fly into your home through a chimney or an open window and bite you at night. Their bite marks are so small, you might not even notice anything. Raccoons are another animal that is common in Maryland and known to carry rabies. Generally, if the animal is behaving normally and doesn’t look visibly sick, it probably doesn’t have rabies.

Do you have any other questions? Feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to answer them.
