Raccoons are very strong for their size, and they can often tear off vent covers, shingles, siding, flashing or loose boards to get into your attic. Unless it’s high up on the roof, raccoon damage can usually be seen from the ground.
Due to their size, raccoons are also fairly loud and slow, so they are easy to spot. If you hear loud stomping or racket in your attic, it’s probably a raccoon. Once in your attic, a raccoons will gather materials to build a den. In the process, they often rip up insulation, tear open air ducts and in general cause a big mess.
